Certainly not Ryan, especially now that he is without one!
The past few days have been a little unexpected, although I can tell you that our story does have a happy ending.
It started Wednesday. At lunch, Ryan opened a brand new jar of banana peppers to put on his salad, and ended up with a tummy ache. Many hours later, despite a hefty dose of Pepto Bismol, Ryan’s tummy ache did not go away. When the pain escalated to his hip and did not ease, he turned to Urgent Care. I’m glad to say the Urgent Care doctor was on the ball, because he diagnosed Ryan with appendicitis and sent him to the ER for an appendectomy.
Ryan was in surgery for about an hour and a half. When surgeon came out with the good news that all was well, he brought these lovely pictures of Ryan’s procedure. Lovely, huh?

“It doesn’t hurt so much here or here. Just right in this area.”
The doctor says: “As you can see, the appendix is clearly inflamed.” If you say so, doc! What I’m looking at looks more like a glob of peanut butter got lodged in the back of someone’s throat. But luckily for Ryan, I was not the surgeon on call.
Regardless of the doctor’s bedside manner, Ryan did make it out of the hospital just fine. He is now home recovering and getting lots of rest.
I guess the big question is, will Ryan ever eat banana peppers again?

Welcome to my club. Noone ever tells you it starts out that way. I just thought I was having a really bad stomach ache. I didn't get photos! Hope you have a speedy recovery.
Two thumbs up for the size of your appendix. It's suppose to be the size of my pinkey. Glad it didn't explode from that pepper sauce.
Let's keep the rest of the summer uneventful, but I do like the photo's and you don't look too bad yourself, even with your body weight down a bit.
Love you,
Mom
Ha ha ha! Glad to hear that you are dong well. Feel better soon!
Oh WOW! Well, thank GOD that didn't happen in Pensacola...
Sounds like hie is feeling better. Miss you guys, need another vacation yet? I do.
We could TOTALLY use another week in Pesacola!
It kinda creeps me out that surgeons are giving out pictures of peoples insides these day! HA! Glad Ryan is okay and recuperating!!
Are you going to frame that picture or have William take it to daycare for show & tell (David has pictures of his last colonoscopy...wanna share??)
