It's been a while since we got a babysitter, so Ryan and I decided it was time for a night out. We called our favorite babysitter and got tickets to the only show we could find, Pippin!
Once the babysitter arrived, we only had to spend about 10 minutes with Megan to calm her down enough to leave. She seems to know that when the babysitter arrives, Mom and Dad are going away, and she becomes really clingy. William, on the other hand, recognized Shelby right away and ran up to her, giving her a HUGE hug! I think he likes her more than us.
Finally free, Ryan and I went to Rock Bottom Brewery for dinner, and then off to the show. The venue was small, and our seats were great. We were practically sitting in the orchestra with all the kids.. I say "kids" because, to our surprise, the show we selected turned out to be a High School production!! It was Ryan and I among parents, grandparents, and friends of these kids in the orchestra and on stage.
I have to admit, I was a little disappointed at first. In the end though, the kids at Northwest High School of Performing Arts did an excellent job. It was a fantastic musical - great singing and dancing. Neither Ryan nor I knew anything about the story of Pippin... turns out to have a pretty powerful message. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone!
