After Ryan’s surgery, my mom sent a dinner package from Omaha Steaks (chicken and potatoes, yummy!) It arrived frozen in a box with dry ice. Of course, inside the box, Ryan bypasses the chicken and potatoes and heads straight for the dry ice!
He and William spent over an hour putting dry ice in cups and bowls and playing with the fog. This is what we learned:
I think the soapy/foggy bubbles were William’s favorite part because he’d scoop up the bubbles and then pop them to release the fog.
Boys will be boys.

He and William spent over an hour putting dry ice in cups and bowls and playing with the fog. This is what we learned:
- Dry ice in cold water (or any water) is pretty “cool”, as William put it.
- BUT Dry ice in hot water makes significantly more fog.
- Dry ice sizzles when removed from water with a metal ice cream scoop.
- And (the most fun), when placed in a cup of soapy water, dry ice creates a lot of big heavy soap bubbles filled with fog.
I think the soapy/foggy bubbles were William’s favorite part because he’d scoop up the bubbles and then pop them to release the fog.
Boys will be boys.

You are such a fun Mom and Dad.
Great experience for William.
Keep up the good work.
Mom
Ha HA HA Looking at the pictures of William and the ice are real cute. But William showing Megan where she can stand if she can get there, are the best. We think William will show Megan many new adventures, and she is big enough now to follow...egad!
HAHA...I want to play with dry ice too!
That is so cool!
That video is cool!
Ry and Elizabeth, I'm just reading this for the first time and you made me cry! (and it's NOT just because I'm still nursing!)
This is one of the most heartfelt and touching ways to let your family know what is happening in the lives of your children. I will keep checking and will also take some lessons about taking the time to update people about the important every day joy of raising children! Thanks for a fun boost to the day!
There's no crying in BLOGS!! (or is that baseball). Either way, we're glad you're enjoying it.
You should start one too!!! It's a great way to show extended family the most recent pictures and goings-on. :)
