September 19th, Arr

Yo-ho-ho, Matey’s!

I be happy to announce to ye land lubbers that this great, fine day is official “Talk like a Pirate Day”. Now stop yer complainin’, ye scurvy dogs, and raise a pint of grog in a hearty “Ahoy”!

Arr.. Where did me put me doubloons…?

Flat Tire

See? I told you it was a bad week at the Cunningham house.

Somewhere between home and work, I ran over a screw. The car felt weird when I drove to work Wednesday morning and even more oddly unbalanced on the way home… and there was a strange noise in the right, front side of the car… “Not so much here, or here… but in this general area, here.” To be honest, it did kinda sound like a tire issue.

By the time I pulled into the driveway, the tire was completely flat. Again, an intervention from God must have been in order. I drove a good 20 miles on that flat tire.. plus I swerved off the pavement into a small trench at one point on the way home (please, don’t ask). The kids and I could have been doomed, but we all made it home safely.

The good news is that the process of putting on the spare tire was new and exciting family affair.

Fifth What?

Sorry for the spotty postings this week, but this has not been the best week at the Cunningham house.

Early this week, William broke out into a rash on his cheeks, arms and legs. At first we thought it was sunburn, but when it got worse, we realized it was something more serious.

Turns out it was Fifth Disease. It’s sometimes called “Slapped Cheeks” because it looks like you’ve been slapped in the face a few times.

Because of a persistent cough, the doctor also x-rayed his chest, and he had Walking Pneumonia too! God must have been watching out for us, because if it weren’t for the Fifth Disease, William’s pneumonia could have gotten serious!

William’s doing well now. Fully rested and happy to spend a day home watching TV, he’s pretty much returned to his normal self.

Find the Cheapest Gas

Someone emailed this link to me, and I thought it was nifty enough to post it.

Click here: http://autos.msn.com/everyday/gasstations.aspx?zip=&src=Netx

The link above allows you to plug in your zip code and find the gas stations that have the cheapest (and highest) prices.

With prices going back up again, every penny counts!

Virtual Birthday Hugs!

This was an impossible task. Maybe we need to stick to more simple things, like signs. See birthday bloopers.

We hope you have a wonderful day!

Happy Birthday, Grandma G!
