Dylan's Birthday

William's best bud, Dylan, turned five this month. To celebrate, a party was held at a children's gym called, Rolly Pollies.

Among the attractions was a zip line that dumped you into a huge foam pit, a moon bounce slide, and (Megan's fav) the trampoline sprint. Tell me, why don't adults have parties like this?? I'm serious - who put trampolines on the Murtaugh list?? Not me!

Where did that hair come from?

We have been doing Megan's hair since she had hair to do.



But lately I've noticed that her pony tails are getting a little thicker, and her bangs a lot longer.



I do need to find out the trick her teachers use to keep her still.



She would never stay still enough for me to brade one of these.

Attempt #1...

A friend of mine knows I took a cake decorating class several years ago. The class allows me to make cutsie cakes for my kids on their birthdays, and an occasional office baby shower cake.

Anyway, this friend, she asked me to make her wedding cake! I told her I didn't have the skills, but I'd give it a try. Her wedding isn't until September, but last night I made a test cake to see if it was even possible.

Here it is!

The HOA Strikes Again...

As part of the forced neighborhood improvement initiative, our HOA decided that our shutters were looking a little faded.

So this weekend I risked life and limb (well maybe only limb) to put a new coat of paint on our neglected shutters.

They do look much better.
However, the roof is much steeper than it looks.
