Happy Easter!

It's April already, and Easter has come and gone. It happened so fast, we almost missed it. I'm not sure the kids got to enjoy it as much as they normally would have. William was getting over what could have been either scarlet fever or roseola, and Megan was just starting a week-long fever, but that didn't stop the festivities!

On Saturday, our favorite radio station, the link 107.9, put on their annual Eggstravagansa. Tons of people came out for what turned into a free-for-all easter egg hunt where children were knocked down by greedy parents. The whole thing was over in less than 20 seconds. William did walk away with a few plastic eggs and some chocolate that was melted and had been stepped on. I think next year we will stick with the smaller church functions, or just hide eggs outside ourselves.

Sunday, we woke up bright and early on Easter morning and headed to church. The kids, slightly comatose from being awakened so early and a little confused by the sudden onset of fancy clothing, were really good for the service.

It was a colder, breezy morning. We tried to take some outside pictures, but we didn't really get a good shot. Most of the fun was inside, where we hid some plastic eggs and went through our baskets. The big hit this year for William? A teenage mutant ninja turtle! He's still carrying that thing around.

My cousin, Carrie, and her friend, Rachel, stopped by for a nice dinner. We had a honey-baked-ham and got a chance to talk for a while. All-in-all, it was a fun Easter. Let's hope that next year the kids feel a little better.
