And so do duckies! Every year, KinderMourn hosts the Hope Floats charity event, raising funds for parents and children who have lost loved ones in their lives. This year, the event was held at the US National Whitewater Center.
Last July, we visited the whitewater center for the first time with Grandma and Grandpa C. It’s really a neat place. A man-made river formed for the general public to white water raft. There are trails and rock climbing as well. Although, we did not raft, there is a walking trail that follows the river loop. So you can watch those braver than you get flung from their vessels. Quite entertaining, indeed.
When we heard about the Hope Floats event, we decided it was the perfect time to return. KinderMourn launched 12,000 adopted rubber duckies into the man-made rapids. Numbers were on the bottom of each, so the first ducks to reach the end of the river won prizes. William spent most of his time jumping off every rock he could find, but he also got a big kick out of the event. Before he went to bed this evening, he said: “Thank you, Mommy. It was too fun watching ducks in the river.”

That must have been a crazy sight!
Such great memories with you guys last summer.
William just loves those rocks. Ryan should put some around the house to entertain WC. Megan is precious in her hat.
