For the past few years, our birthday tradition has included getting a babysitter and going into the city to see a show. Ryan and I both enjoy theater, and birthdays give us an excuse to go twice a year.
This weekend, we saw Avenue Q! It was very funny. Kind of a twisted adult version of Sesame Street, complete with puppets!

Although we did enjoy the show very much, we happened to be sitting in front of two girls who had obviously seen it many times. During the first half, they said all the lines a split second before the actors did. When they weren't doing that, they were prefacing scenes with comments like "oh - this part is hilarious" or "this is funny as [bleep]". Why do Ryan and I always get seated next to these people??
Anyway, aside from the annoying peanut gallery, we did have a good time.

COULD HAVE BEEN WORSE!!
They could have had big hair and hats on. Being on the short side, I look for those kind of people and always sit behind them.
Glad you get out and do fun things for yourselves once in a while.
Nice Birthday, balloons and all...
Those types of people don't like me. :) I'm glad you guys were able to get out and that sounds like a great tradition!
Have you ever seen Ace of Cakes on Foodnetwork? I saw them make a cake for that show. The puppet people were creepy. Even when they weren't preforming a show they wouldn't stop using/acting like the puppets.
You will meet rude people everywhere...but it sounds as though they didn't stop you from enjoying the show and having fun!
That's a great tradition. Sounds like it was good, even with the annoying people.
